The Cannabis Trade: Recipes for Success
The cultivation of cannabis is a popular venture for survivors looking to establish a reliable income stream and enjoy a comfortable quality of life. While the trade is profitable, it requires diligence, as crops are often targeted by opportunistic thieves.
For those involved in cultivation or those who acquire its spoils, the crafting recipes are designed to be straightforward.
Cannabis Product Variants
The trade currently offers five distinct quantity types for the finished product:
- Bud Branches: Directly harvested from mature plants.
- Buds: Chunky, roughly half-ounce (1/2 oz.) quantities.
- Small Nugs: Smaller, broken-down portions used for smoking implements.
- Zips: Full ounce (oz.) packages.
- Bricks: The largest bulk quantity.
Note: All crafting recipes require that you use the same strain of buds throughout the process.
Key Recipes
1. Trimming Bud Branches
Bud Branches can be processed immediately after harvest (fresh) or dried first. Drying the branches on a Drying Rack will increase your total final yield.
- Required: 1 Bud Branch + (Any standard vanilla knife)
- Output: Buds (Quantity varies by strain)
2. Creating Small Nugs
Each individual Bud can be broken down further into smaller portions, which are then used for items like Blunts or for filling a Bong.
- Required: 1 Bud + (Any standard vanilla knife)
- Output: 1 stack of 14 Small Nugs
3. Rolling Blunts
Backwoodz 3Packs can be discovered in the game world. Unpacking a single pack provides 3 Backwoodz Cigars.
- Required: 1 Backwoodz Cigar + 3 Small Nugs
- Output: 1 rolled Blunt (The strain will match the small nugs used.)
4. Crafting Zips (Ounces)
Zips are the standard ounce packages and can be crafted from, or broken down into, Buds.
- Crafting Zip: 1 Bud + 1 Bud = 1 Zip
- Breaking Down Zip: 1 Zip + (Any vanilla knife) = 2 Buds
5. Manufacturing Bricks (Bulk)
To produce the highest quantity bulk item, you must use the Production Table.
Requirements:
- Workstation: Production Table
- Consumable: Duct Tape or Ziplock Bag
- Ingredients: 16 Buds total (must be the same strain)
Process: Attach full stacks of the same-strain Buds into every available slot on the Production Table under the Cannabis Products panel. With either Duct Tape or a Ziplock Bag in hand, approach the table to display the prompt and craft the Brick.
